Although they look similar, CZ is made from zirconium dioxide (ZrO2) and sits on the Mohs scale around 8 to 8.5, while Diamonds (both natural and lab-grown) are made of carbon (C), with a Mohs hardness of 10.
CZ can also be coloured and used as alternatives to coloured diamonds & gemstones (such as emerald, ruby, sapphire).
